Melvor idle black knight4/7/2023 TL DR: I need to stop messing with so many spreadsheets. Stop at Yew or Magic (relatively small difference), and save any Redwood for fletching Dragon Javs. The extra time needed for Redwood logs make them ineffective for training in firemaking. ![]() I'll use my teak for overnight idling, probably. Teak Logs without the bonfire provide better XP/s than Maple Logs, but with the bonfire Maple Logs are better. How much you'll be idling this and the logs you have in stock will determine your best option. This makes it a tradeoff between speed and maximizing your resources.(The minimum loss of experience is 25% when Yew Logs are at 99 Mastery.) Your XP/s will increase, but your total experience earned will suffer. Likely obvious, but using the bonfire will never provide greater overall experience than burning logs without. Some of these are already known, I'm sure, but I've got math on them now so here they are: If you're not quite into the numbers like this, here's the important points I took away. These are basic metrics for bonfire usage, though it's more detailed in the rest of the spreadsheet. I was having trouble creating a good image and couldn't find out how to quickly recreate the table here, but I wanted to share! It's all detailed in a Google Spreadsheet here. So, my Min/Max tendencies started to come out and I made a table detailing the effective XP per second received based on your mastery with any given log, as well as the efficiency of the bonfire. I wasn't sure if there were specific methods beyond "burn the best logs", because the numbers could change for everything. I know the burn time decreases with your mastery, and the logs all have different bonfire durations and bonuses that can really affect your XP/s. So I am just starting to work on maxing out my firemaking skill (level 46), and I am not a fan of this grind! I started looking for options to maximize my efficiency and got way too far into it. ![]() Thank you for staying with us for 100 days! Cheers! The exact plan will be decided in the future. We can then farm a fighter's amulet and a Fury of Elemental Zodiac. It's likely that we'll go for Tidal Edge ASAP. To get Master Slayer Equipment, we'll want to complete master Slayer tasks first. To get max skill cape, we will want to get Tidal Edge first. However, two things we want ASAP are Master Slayer equipment and Max Skill cape. Once Ocean Song is done, we'll have the most powerful magic weapon in the game. It's pretty difficult to plan for the future. The exp doesn't do anything now, but everything being roughly the same (not to mention, the slayer body was a bit faster anyway), we decided to go for the exp for future expansions. However, doing so also lost me 30% slayer exp. That actually was slightly slower, but we could turn off my Stone Skin prayers to save some prayer points. I substituted Aeris for Slayer Body for a while.Losing the extra Slayer coins and Slayer exp is a bit painful, but 5% increased loot is pretty good. We no longer need the area effect negation of Hunter's Ring. Substituted Aorpheat's Signet Ring for Hunter's Ring. This damage isn't shown on our max hit, but it is there. The Slayer Cape both gives us 60% Area Effect Negation, and 5% more damage against slayer task monsters.Since we got 99 slayers, we've substituted the Slayer Cape for the Prayer Cape. Not only have we reached both Level 99 in both slayer and ranged, we have already reached a most significant milestone in farming for Ocean Song. It's no different on the 100th day this Log. ![]() On summer solstice, we sacrifice some bears to the Blood God, and on winter solstice, we gut some penguins to divine the new year. It's a rule universally acknowledged in narrative that a significant day must have significant events.
